The Isle of Skye is a must-see if you ever find yourself in Scotland. This region will leave you speechless every step of the way, thanks to its stunning vistas, excellent treks, and charming tiny villages.

The Quiraing is the first site you should go on the Isle of Skye. Quiraing is a great exercise since it can be as strenuous as you want it to be. You could hike and explore for roughly five miles if you are an experienced hiker. Even if you are not an experienced hiker, there is still landscape to be discovered in just a few tenths of a mile. The trek is made much more magnificent by the undulating green and pristine countryside. Every few seconds, massive cliffs and massive rock formations arise at every meandering curve of the trail, leaving all hikers speechless. This trek is near the settlement of Uig on the Isle of Skye’s far northern point. Because the weather may be fickle, make sure to dress appropriately and carry the hiking gear you’ll need for any eventuality. When I went trekking, for example, the sky was a gorgeous blue when I first started. However, throughout the hours I was trekking, I saw a few major rainstorms, snowstorms, hailstorms, and even strolled under a rainbow. If the weather cooperates, the peak offers views of two lakes, several mountains, and limitless kilometres of blue ocean. The Quiraing is a beautiful film set site, as well as a tourist destination. Stardust (2007), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), Macbeth (2015), and Transformers: The Last Knight are among the films that have been shot at the Quiraing (2017).

The Fairy Pools, located on the west coast of the island in Carbost, right beneath the Black Cuillins mountains, are the second must-see attraction on the Isle of Skye. On the River Brittle, the Fairy Pools are a series of miniature waterfalls that cascade into shining crystal clear blue pools. The one-and-a-half-mile trip follows the river for the most part, taking around forty minutes to complete on level ground. The Fairy Pools, with their stunning vistas, are a fantastic site to visit and, if you’re feeling courageous, a great place to swim. According to mythology, a MacLeod chief from the area chose to marry a fairy princess. As a result, the Isle of Skye has various spots named for fairies, including the Fairy Pools. Other old traditions said that supernatural beings would dress up as seals during the day and then transform into people at night, bathing in the Fairy Pools under the moonlight.

Old Man Storr, which is part of the Trotternish range, is the final place on the Isle of Skye that I would definitely suggest seeing. With a height of 164 feet, this clump of boulders is the highest point on the Trotternish ridge. The name of this mountain comes from the face of an elderly man that may be seen if you look closely enough on a huge stone. This trek is a little longer than the Quiraing, but the scenery is well worth it. When you reach the hike’s centre, you’ll be surrounded by massive, stunning sedimentary rock formations. The size of these rocks is such that they can be seen from kilometres away. The Storr was formed by a massive prehistoric landslide, and it has since become one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

Overall, the Isle of Skye is a lovely area that begs to be explored. Given its remoteness, this location has a special attractiveness. The island’s uncivilised character makes the excursion appear like a trip back in time. Without a doubt, this region of Scotland has been my favourite, and if you have the opportunity to travel to Scotland, you must visit the Isle of Skye.
